One of those typical confusing 'am I the protagonist or am I watching?' types of dreams.

This guy was running around a complex, trying to avoid these (AI?) robots that would do something bad to him if and when they caught him. He tried hiding under a (tarp? But clear??) and staying still (maybe to avoid triggering the robot sensors? IDK), but eventually he was seen, cornered (although, weirdly, the 'robots' seemed to be one 'female' and one 'male'), and some appendage (a flexible segmented mechanical arm/tentacle?) swung towards him that would knock him out or something. He was not happy, as he figured he was now dead, or worse.  'Fade to black'.

However, next 'scene' seemed to be of him 'reborn' (or perhaps his 'soul' or consciousness?) put into a women's body.  She was standing there, grinning toothilly, possibly hands on hips, amidst some battle or rebellion scene.  And, she seemed to be an adventurer/warrior. The former 'he', despite finding himself in this situation seemed to me to not be too upset, but perhaps relatively relieved, as he felt he was 'still sufficiently himself', albeit in a different body.

Was showing someone else a film clip of this class who, every year, (perhaps it was a final project, or exam), proved they could outwit flying AI 'bots by being 'hunted' by the, but destroying them before they could 'get' them.  The particular clip showed one student rushing through a door, (possibly to a roof-top) then mugging a bit for the camera before re-opening the door. Whereupon all the drone 'bots, that had been lured by th student and had just reached the exit were greeted with destruction - I think this time, they were being immediately shot down.

I told the person viewing the clip that this happened every year (implication was that each class would put its own spin on how to defeat the flying drones -i.e., of course they wouldn't want to copy each other, and there'd be a competitive aspect as well) and I was of a mind to go be a spectator so I could see it in person this year.

This dream was. of course, triggered by the 'Slaughterbots' film, plus a reaction article where someone had pointed out that in NO way would humans just stand around a let such a thing just be created and then fly around, picking people off.  If worst came to worst and true flying AI device were created and available, humans'd figure out how to jam their facial recognition routines, put up nets, shoot them down, and other techniques yet to be created.

Obviously, part of me Agrees.
