Another of my many dream rides on some sort of public transportation (not totally clear; train or bus).

Felt I missed the exact stop I wanted; so I got off at the next stop. Getting to where I figured I ought to go involved walking, along with several other passengers a few feet as if off a bridge to more solid land.

In that area, people were also climbing up a wall of some sort (not that tall). Uncertain if I were supposed to do so also, ie, if that was necessary or the only way to where we were going. I personally paid more attention to the couple of irritating huckster types who seemed to be lurking about, shilling stuff to and pestering the climbers, as if this were part of a pilgrimage and they the pilgrim-fleecing grifters. I got that they couldn't force you to buy their cr@p, but if your will was that weak or your discernment that naive, they would take advantage of you.

(Yes, I Resent their very existance. Always. The pests and the predators.

They offend my sensibilities.

Sometimes, I'd like to Eliminate them all. Judge, Jury, Executioner.)

Presently an older man who looked to me like my 'dad' was escorted up part of the way by a female guide - she had a park ranger 'feel' of 'official' competence to her. I got that the escort was due to his age. Though I'm not certain whether the point was that he was deemed incompetent and in need of protection due to advanced age or simply had by virtue of his years earned the right to be shielded - a sign of respect - from having to deal with life's Annoying pests, due to having less energy in general.

I'm left with the vague impression that it was assumed that younger travlers could figure their own damn way out of any annoying encounters with grifters.
