I've had mixed results with Catalog Choice. Most of the companies I selected are currently marked as "Not Participating," but I generally don't receive their catalogs. I think not leaving a forwarding address helped with that.
Yeah, I lost a lot of them after my move, but just browsing sites (and cookies) generally leads to a catalog on the doorstep with in a couple of weeks...
I am with another service- and I cannot remember what it is called- but it got rid of nearly all of my catalogs this year. I also got on the optoutprescreen.com list to kill off pre-screened credit card offers for five years.
They stopped cold. I also used the "Do Not Call" service to stop telemarketing calls to both my cell and home phone.
