Some wandering about a 'school'; far as I could tell, the usual 'where is my notebook?' meanderings. Wondering what I was doing there, etc. Some of that outside with other students milling around (as if school were now out).

Being shown or going to someone's house; someone commenting on the next house, a mansion really, over - had a grand dining room for entertaining, and was frequently in use - but almost a scornful 'social climber/conspicuous consumption' feel of light scorn to those observations.

Ended up in a dining room myself - at one point, seemed to have poured or refreshed the wine. As dinner came to an end, and the guests were repairing to the living room to converse, I was invited to remain at the dining table to join in a more casual conversation with a friend of the fellow I was talking to. I noticed the wineglasses, and was chagrined to see I'd apparently given myself considerably more than the rest of the diners had gotten. (Either that or I'd actually drunk less than everyone else - could be I was being teased over still having more.) At any rate, I was looking forward to the yakking. Reminded me of the more casual get-togethers I used to see at home growing up, where my folks and family friends would witter over some wine and cheese and crackers, in front of the fire in the kitchen. I use to perch on a chair and follow along, and those evenings kind of set my standard for the preferred way to interact with friends. (My folks were Democrats, so usually the convo. was heavy with Liberal b*tching and moaning about the Republican administrations of my youth...stuff I considered so terribly Grown-Up and sophisticated, heh.)
