It's interesting that it's taken so long for anyone to separate the two concepts. This guy isn't saying sexually explicit material is bad; he's saying that cruelty is bad, and asking why it is part of mainstream erotic entertainment.

Lots of people have already said, 'We see a clear difference between erotica & pornography, and we think pornography is harmful & morally wrong'.
Those whose sexuality formed entwined with pornography so much that they can't function sexually without being to some extent, cruel, continue to do the equivalent of sticking their fingers in their ears and going "LA LA LA!!!! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!" (Or, as he points out in the article, declaring that those against pronography are 'anti-sex', 'uptight', 'prudes', etc.)
