A nation is only as strong as its citizens are - and intellectual strength is surely the richest resource a country's citizenry can possess.

The intellectual flowering nurtured by innovative education, freely-available to all, has driven this nation's fortunes forward, made her among the strongest competitors if not argurably the strongest in the world in the areas of military and scientific research and development, all contributing ultimately to our superior economy.

So why then is American education currently so underfunded?

There are no short-cuts to good education. It takes time, and it takes money. 'Weed' or 'prune' your crop too early by 'tracking' too harshly and too prematurely, and you'll end up with a stunted crop.

Since our schools are the fertile ground from which our greatness rises, give them enough of the 'fertilizer' they need to grow properly.

And that ain't bullsh*t.

What's worse than being poorly funded is being told we have to Do This, Do That, and Do The Other in order to be "better" teachers - and yet they give us little to no money to do it. So it's not just being poor schools, which we already are, it's making us do more shit (jumping through more hoops) but not increasing the treats fiduciary aspects.

And I'm going to shut up now before I get on a REAL rant. Damn Ohio General Assembly. Damn the prez and his No Educational Vendor Left Behind. (Feel free to delete this if you think the Men in Black will bring you in for questioning...)
