A long time ago in high school, a friend of mine (who had a hard time getting girls to go out with him anyway), showed interest in a Syrian girl- her brothers took offence and chased him all over town whenever they saw him , to put The Hurt on him. But, in those days of the 60's, this behavior wasn't so unusual- except that in cases involving Americans, usually a girlfriend - not a sister- was the cause for getting an asswhipping.
