...is on.
I'd never 'diet', but I will do what Trina for example referred to as watch food portions - literally 'ration' my meals. An example would be no more than a cup to a cup and a quarter of any entree (I prefer casseroles or soups, reasonably healthy ones, for lunches). Also, healthy snacks planned like yogurt, etc., so I'm not left starving (low blood sugar) at any time during the day.
Theoretically that's all it should take, combined with regular Curves attendance, to re-balance my body and permanently lower my weight's setpoint over the coming months - making sure I never again unconsciously eat more then is really needed (such as eating out and in effect having 3-4 serving's worth at once, and also automatic snacking, especially at night).
Isn't just the weight issue - should save an appreciable amount of $, too.
FWIW, I've never been that much into the deep fried food or ice cream (though I occasionally like my fries) - my diet's healthy enough, just wayyyy (in retrospect) too much of it. My worst 'vice' if it can be called that is undoubtedly cheese. And there are lower-fat versions. Might as well give them a go while I'm at it.
For the moment, I've been bringing lunches to work...which is just as well. No larger than normal portions to be tempted by.
'Course, it's always easiest during the first couple of weeks... ennit?
We'll see what happens as the semester continues and schoolwork builds. Will I keep on with measuring...or will I find excuses to eat out and/or let the portion sizes creep up again?
