My Virgin Mobile cellphone went missing several days back, with no idea from me where it'd been seen last, etc. In my usual flakey way (and because I really don't use it that often), I looked 'round for it off and on in only a desultory way. Today, though, spurred by an automated 'Must add $ to your acc't TODAY or your acc't will be frozen!!' e-mail from Virgin Mobile, I looked seriously, and sure enough, no sign of it anywhere.

Easy enough to start a new acc't; and if it was nicked the perp's now got no more service, and I hadn't even had more than a few $s-worth of service left on it, but still, now I gotta spring $100 for a replacement phone...
...phone prices have gone down and features have improved. So fortunately, for $20 cheaper than last time, I can get a similar dinky phone but this time with real-sound ring capabilities - this time my phone can literally 'meow' if I want it to!

Target tomorrow here I come!!!

Every fanficcer has that long-lost Mary-Sue story that (if they were lucky) never truly saw the light of day.

I'm one of the lucky ones.

This is the short-lived but Witty 80s program that inspired not only my very first fanfic, but arguably the style of humor seen in the Hercules and Xena series, as well as some of Buffy's and Angel's tongue-in-cheek style. (As for the series' creator Don Reo, he recalls being greatly Princess Bride-inspired.)

Ah, memories....sitting up late in bed one High School Christmas Eve, seized by inspiration, typing it on our little Brother portable electric typewriter with auto-correction feature....
