Classic, classic scenario: me at my childhood home, feeling I needed to 'catch the bus to school'. Moving around, getting ready, making sure I had my stuff, etc. My mother was around. Yet as the bus pulled up, got caught up in that cognitive dissodence, realizing I had this job to go to. Err...how could I go to school when I had a job? I got caught up in trying tho figure that one out. Thinking maybe I was stopping by the school, but not for the whole day, but then how would I get to the other places I had to go after, etc. The bus driver was quite nice, pausing and even getting out from her seat and stepping down to listen to my concerns. I seemed to be across the street, on the neighbor's side of the street, and there may have been a much younger child in the yard, possibly someone else who normally took the bus. I think the driver was wondering if he was going to be taking the bus as well. Or else he did, and she was just taking a few moments to resolve the situation with me.
