Weird scenario, some elements not too dissimilar to some recent LotR fanfic I've read, where 'elves' who've stayed alive all the millennia are still around. I heard a few talking, and became aware that they'd taken revenge on someone who'd been some sort of enemy (and that this action might have been of interest to me as well); I made sure they wouldn't tell me exactly what they'd done, as I was sure it'd be grisly. The revenge action either involved or was coincidental to a fire in a farm-like area; a couple of elves mentioned how they'd paused to rescue 'mice' who'd been trapped by the fire. 'Maglor' and 'Maedros' (IIRC, two Tolkien elves from the Simirillian) especially referenced the mice rescue. One said that he'd rescued a certain number, about 8, and the other added that he'd rescued five who'd been doing 'dog research, but had been trapped by lint'. Umm... at this point, seems the 'mice' were HHGttG mice or something.....

A bit later, I thought I was involved in a scenario that involved or was a narrative about a kidnapped child being transported by her abductor - presumably scared, though not hurt yet, and my or someone elses's wish to somehow rescue said child/children...something to the effect that I/someone else wished one could just see a child and know if he/she was in peril...and just grab their hand and run with them to a place of safety, while alerting the authorities to grab the perp.
