Working hard, filing/shredding papers that sat around for a long time.....finally getting that done.
Hung curtains over the living area windows last week. A couple of weeks before, changed the light bulbs in my bedroom that'd needed it for weeks (v. high ceilings). Had no ladder...(why I'd waited so long), but finally decided to just use my dresser to climb on to do it (fairly safely). Good thing it was an older piece of furniture - old yet strong. Real wood, not particle board.
Getting things done...
Nagged my dad for a really nice and colorful painting I'd used to have (hanging in my senior year dorm room at college) but which he'd taken back after college, as he'd wanted to re-stretch it... but I will now get it back for now. Living room area really needs some color - and this'll definitely do the trick.(How many people can say they have a painting done by their dad? ^_^)
Got a debit card (finally) to avoid ATM charges. Local supermarket has a couple of express automated checkout lines; I like, except of course will eventually eliminate another type of job. Will there be something else at that time to replace it? If not... then not a good thing. That said...I enjoyed the way the system worked. Sorry to say it, but...dealing with supermarket cashiers is not high on my list of crucial social interactions.
Bought an umbrella, as mine's been missing since the summer...and as soon as I got it home...yup, I found the missing brolly. (Oddly, was almost in plain site, too.) Ain't that funny how that works...? Returning the new one for a refund tommorrow or the day after...
Snackie of the week: Stuffed Jalapeno 3-cheese poppers (mild jalapenos stuffed with cheddar, monterey jack and cream cheese with a crispy coating over all. (Bet yer hungry now...)
The above was a treat for me, and not something I indulge in often now... Ain't it funny how much stuff you see that looks fun to buy...when you know you can't afford it...and you know the majority of your fellow shoppers are spending as you used to (when you had a FT income)...on all sorts of conveniences and processed treats... ^_^
Tommorrow, will be dropping off clothes at a popular vintage store that does consignment (Eva P'll know thereof which I speak). I'm just not wearing the stuff, and hell, might as well get back a few $s on my original investment.
Later this week, picking up an extra work shift at the main job. I need just a leeeeeeeetle more $ coming in...and on a more regular basis, too. Not a huge ton more....but more.
