I can understand this guy's frustration with kids being out in the street getting into trouble, but it seem to me that the parents were not actively teaching or encouraging the kids to commit crimes (that would be a whole different can of worms.)
As someone in the article said: why aren't there enough afterschool programs and activity centers to keep the kids busy? Stay-at-home moms are a rare thing these days, as most families must have both parents working just to make ends meet.
I too, worry that too much of this jerk's focus is on the mothers when there are hundreds of thousands of deadbeat dads in the country who will cheerfully lie to the new wife/girlfriend about how many kids he has already helped produce.
There are none so blind as those who *will* not see, I guess.
