Finally, after 7 years...about to justify having gotten a .com site....

The prose on the 'about' page is a bit clunky, I know. Going to have to fiddle with that soonish...

I needed a short, easy-to-remember word for my domain. Other possibilities (variations on my name, my childhood neighborhood, etc) were either already taken, IMO too vanity-ish, or unwieldy.

A couple of hours of online foreign dictionary surfing, with special attention paid to the Finnish one (given my long-standing fondness for Finnish Design) later, a decision was made, and the rest, as they say, was history.

So it's definitely a deliberate tip o' the hat to Finnish Design. Regarding structure (that complicated snarl of nesting tables), I borrowed literally from a minimalist Finnish furniture company's web site whose look I admire.

The logo's font (Alba) is a tip o' the hat to 70s design in general...
