Got good flavor (with that much butter & sugar in them, they'd better), but a tad dry. Ground the nuts in the blender and they came out a bit too fine; they also absoarbed liquid along with the flour and ground oatmeal. And, (ironically), had too many chocolate chips for my taste. I wanted cookies with an accent of semi-sweet chocolate, not (in some cases) a conglomeration of chips barely held together by cookie dough. Wanted cookies, not candy.

Melting the butter and sugars together (then waiting a bit so the mixture wouldn't cook the eggs) worked very well, though. Supposed to melt the sugar and create a nicer texture. Also added 2x the normal vanilla as per that same 'cookie expert's' advice.

So.

Next time, leave nuts bigger and fewer chips, and it should be fine. I'd probably add a tad less ground oatmeal as well.
