Turns out that http://bankcd.com didn't deliver the highest CD rate around - my folks found out about a 2.5% for a year rate near their home (got documentation so when bankcd.com tries to charge me - it was a fee service - I'll get the refund they offer if they didn't report the highest rate). Retrieved my mo-ney earlier today and schlepped it over to the new bank and a new CD. 'Tis said the rates will be going up...anytime now in the halcyon future....so one ought not to tie up one's money long term. So a year it is. *shrug* Then I got a lift back to town with the ulterior motive of us all having lunch at the delightful JP Seafood cafe. Go us.
