Dreamed that I was visiting the very cool apartment of a guy who looked and acted a lot like Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer - though the rest of the characters from that series didn't seem to be around. Yet it was 'Giles' and I realized, as I admired the apartment that I had a crush on the self-effacing fellow.
I proceeded to tease him a bit (i.e., bringing up the subject where he might hear it), as I talked to a couple of his relatives ('nephews', perhaps? Teeanaged or young college age) who were either visiting, or in residence, about how cool he came across as, and he didn't even realize how people looked up to him. They agreed, heartily. I glanced out one of the windows, and saw a wide swatch of blooming tulips or a similar plant curving across the landscape below. I also admired the details above one fireplace (subtle colored tiles, maybe?), which gave his apartment this comfortable shabby-chic atmosphere. Impression was he'd lucked (some time ago?) into an amazing apartment.
I wandered into a large room (like a dining room, but about to be used as a meeting room) where a group was about to meet. Impression that 'Giles' (and I, by extension?) were in some action group (rebels?) and a meeting was imminent. Someone else (who reminded me a tad of one Facebook friend) came by and was asking me what I'be telling them about, and I suddenly felt self-conscious (surely my suddenly-realized crush wasn't relevant - perhaps I'd been about to update them on my future plans?)
The meeting didn't start by the time I woke, though. At one point I got a glimpse of 'Giles' in his function (or one of them) as a 'medical doctor', which might be what he did for the group about to meet. Amusingly, I seemed to be seeing him display a side where he got more competent and less effacing when under pressure - he seemed to be about to tell some group members ( who had to do some grifting-style work, perhaps in disguise or even in drag!) as part of an action, to just figure it out themselves, make something up, to carry out their part of the operation (while he was masked like a surgeon). So he may have been one of those guys who are effective under pressure, but a bit awkward and bumbly in outside, ordinary life.
