Was out and about, but 'running late for school'. Suddenly a high level co-employee from my workplace (but no one I know per se), upon hearing that I was running late, offered me a ride. Stressed by being late, and tempted by the offer, I was in the midst of wanting to accept, when I noticed my mother doing that 'Don't do it' type of communication. IE, had this been a sitcom, the person trying to tell the other to say no, would be gesturing frantically, while the person offering couldn't see it. Was a bit like that, though without the gestures. I seemed to be being warned off. Not sure if it was because it was actually a dangerous offer to accept, or whether my mother thought I needed to avoid exposure; oughtn't to be letting everyone know about my tardiness by being seen accepting (in public).
