Got a phone call from my dad; he seemed to be out and about, in an urban setting, in a place that he'd (or we'd) been before (though I wasn't 100% sure, based on the description he gave me, over the phone). I was concerned for him, wondering if he was a bit cognitively confused. I think I wanted to figure out where he was, and go to him, but as of the end of this sequence, hadn't. It may be (not clear now upon recall) that someone else there who knew him (or was at least willing to help him) had come across him and was going to help him if he needed it. Or else I did make it to his location in the end.
A workplace friend of mine (with a good local pal of hers that she was used to being goofy and funny with as co-host) were involved with, in her hometown, a homegrown talk show. It seemed to be taking place in a local church, being filmed by some out of town hollywood types. It was as if they'd been 'discovered', and those producer types wanted to make their schtick readily available and so were filming/broadcasting it (or maybe just recording it for future broadcast; wasn't clear). I found myself, bemused, in the 'studio audience' (ie, the people in the church), who were prepared to chant my friend's name as she appeared. I hadn't known she had this stuff in her. Then I found myself wondering how she had time to do this as a side hobby (got the impression she'd only just started this as a lark, recently, before it suddenly became a Thing) when it would involve stuff like writing jokes, and deciding on what angle to take when talking with the guests/interfacing with their publicists - for it had so quickly become a Thing (at least locally) that that very day Meryl Streep was there as a guest. Though it was also possible that the guests (big or small) were still all 'local' to that area. Someone called her to come out (and she didn't), so one producer type opened the door to a little closet near me (this amused me as I'd had no idea there was anyone in there) which apparently was the teeny 'Green Room' so that the guest would come out. Woke up before anyone did, though.
