Some sort of stress/low blood sugar/accidental glutination? dream.  Semi-accidentally (meant to eat just a bit; mechanically polished off the whole thing) ate lots of carbs last night for supper, which may also have had a source of gluten (barbecue sauce). Also, had a 3 am wakening before this dream, during which my cat snapped at me ill-humoredly (didn't break skin, but left a small scratch), which may also have contributed to the dream's negative imagery.

Was at work in the library but not in the familiar surrounds.  Swinging short doors which allowed us to quickly move out of the work area had been added.  Despite not having been consulted, we (I, definitely) approved.  I told my boss that, then became anxious as I realized our holiday pot luck was happening that day (instead of tomorrow) - I'd lost track of which day it was.  I told her I needed to quickly run home and grab my contributions (which included red paper table cloths for the buffet tables - I felt awful that people were setting up without those being on the tables).  I appeared to recall (or was aware, perhaps drifting into semi-lucidity?) that I still had my weekend rental car so I could be quick.  On the other hand, I wasn't recalling that this year, the office holiday meal is being catered.

When I started trying to get in and out of the building I was in, I quickly found to my confusion and dismay that it wasn't the building I actually work in.  I couldn't find my way around; I kept being blocked by features that shouldn't be there, etc.  At one point, I thought of climbing up over this low balcony to get in, but some guy noticed me and was obviously staring at me, so I gave up on that and moved off. At some point I think I realized (more semi-lucidity?) that it wasn't really the 'right' building, as it appeared to be a building (or very like it) of research labs that I'd worked in, during my former career.

Then, was outside the back of the building, trying to move away from the place, and it was nasty - weeds, mounds of dirt, litter, effluvia such as dead, matted animals (looked like birds) looking as if they'd been drowned in a flash flood.

Then saw a live animal - looked mostly like a hyena (though yesterday, while visiting the family in Charlton, I saw one  person watching a tv special on honey badgers, so...).  It began to advance menacingly upon me. I hissed back at it, making it hesitate briefly, whereupon I began to rapidly retreat.  As I did so, I could see that outside this cul-de-sac, a more open, un-littered landscape could be seen - including a butterfly.  I took that as a good sign (at least the area beyond this wasn't as bad), but had not yet finished escaping the hyena/cul de sac before the alarm woke me.

No EE meditation
3 am waking - pit stop but took at least upwards on an hour to get back to sleep, partly due to annoyance over cat's snapping at me, as well as family-related worries.
