Talked to my Dad by phone today to wish him Happy Father's Day... which he indicated had been acknowledged by 2 of his 3 kids as of that point (with cards; that's our family's preferred form of acknowledgement, though in a pinch a phone call will do as well; naturally each family's culture is different)...and I had to quash my momentary urge, once I'd hung up, to call the remaining brother, who tends to be more 'remiss' in general about on-time holiday acknowledgements, to 'remind' him to at least call Dad today.
Avoiding co-dependent behaviors: It's neither my responsibility, nor even my right, to tell my other brother how to handle Father's (or any other) Day. Even if I feel 'bad' that my Dad may feel 'bad' about it.
I've done that (butted in) in the past, and finally realized: gotta stop.
