Little Road Trip

Been a while since I drove; got a Zipcar today and drove from New Haven to Woodstock, CT, for the annual Roseland Cottage arts and crafts fair. Good quality stuff; a proper (juried) fair. Got a few small things. Now back, tired but satisfied. Deliberately asked Google for the non-highway route; drove over hill and dale in a SmartCar. At one point found myself bouncing over a one-lane unpaved road. Oh, Google; you so witty! Car is cute, but was surprised at the relative lack of pep, in automatic mode, on hills. A few people were asking questions about it, amused by its small size.

But I refreshed my driving skills, tried out a SmartCar, found a non-highway route to the area where I grew up, and found my way back, despite dusk falling and a slight unplanned deviation from course in New Haven. Proper Sunday out.
