Made back the cost of the table and a token 'profit' , though that was already eaten up and then some due to getting out there to the Old Home Day craft fair (was town's 250th anniversary) via zipcar. But really, not a bad day - 'bout what I expected. My home town's residents don't in general have the dosh for the sort of jewelry I make; 3/4 of what I did sell were old cheaper leftover earrings (crystal, glass, plated metals) made a few years back during my first jewelry craze. Different times, different economy.
Might've helped if I'd known that more crafters have been setting up on the common itself next to the organization fund raising food booths, etc. the past few Labor Days - if it rains, they're screwed, but if not, like today, they get all that general foot traffic from people who probably never make it over to the Grange Hall where traditionally the craft tables have always been been in years past. *vaguely annoyed*
The compliments I got from those who did stroll through do help, though.
Yes, part of me is gratified simply from knowing people saw some really nice stuff (even if they can't afford to buy it, hehe). But from now on, yeah, I'll stick to fairs 'round here, where there's way more disposable income.
Made $24 for Red Cross Hurricane Relief; someone got a rather nice turquoise necklace/earrings set for the price of a $1 raffle ticket. I'll throw in another $ to make it an even $25 and send it off. Every little bit helps.
