Worked 'til 6, went to Group, caught the 7:22 bus to Central Sq., almost made the #1 but didn't, a train was pulling into Central so I jumped on, rode to Harvard Sq., went out the back Brattle St. exit and walked over to The Charles Hotel and into the Rialto (site of the Derm. holiday party). Just about 8...I'd missed Happy Hour and the hors'd'eourves but the buffet was still open. Filled my plate with beef medallions, polenta, duck, salmon, vinagretted greens and braised teeny carrots and onions, found an unoccupied seat, got a glass of wine, and made social nicities with the office staff who makes up the Derm. presence over at the Dana Farber (none of whom I knew from a hole in the wall, except for Carrie who always brings us tissue samples). Nibbled a few desserts, then made my own rounds of the familiar faces, finally finding my boss (all dolled up in a long deep red velvet dress *~envious~*), swung back to the table, found a sour apple/pineapple martini had mysteriously appeared at my place. Turned out someone else didn't want it. Grabbed and gamely slurped some of that, made my goodbyes, took off as I still had an hour or so of homework time to get in tonight. Caught the #66, got vigorously chatted up by a Mormon missionary. Admitted to her that I was bemused that we had a Mormon Gov. here in MA. She got off in Allston. I got off at Rt. 9 to catch the #39. Gave some dude who walked up to me and asked, a dollar. Bus came, I completed my journey home.
