kalibex: (nasty cat)

Stayed later than usual at work again (something I do every once in a while), to finish an exp't that could not be started until later afternoon (due to getting a biological sample from a hospital). I made a deliberate choice to go ahead and do the exp't anyway, to stay late (boss knew, and was approproiately appreciative and impressed that I'd do that) because I figured this'd get a certain data we needed once and for all. So I'd just go ahead, bite the bullet, and get it done, taking a little comp time later in the week...and yeah, I guess I figured the brownie points wouldn't hurt.

And it didn't even give the results we wanted (ie, enough cells to FACS stain). All that time was basically completely wasted.

No more. If in future the stuff isn't available by midday, forget it.

Lesson learned : No more late experiments - that particular martyr complex = over.
