Woke with a sense of having been considering how to describe the skill-set of a performer of someone like Ellen Degeneres (as if I were to explain it to my dad, for instance). Not that such a person, when they achieve the level she's at, doesn't have a whole slew of background support staff, because they do - but the specific skill set they bring to the table. That included sometimes writing their own material along the way.)
