Just noticed last night that Shore's Gondor theme from RotK is 'Desperate settlers in the frontier fort about to be over-run by attacking Indians as they wait for the cavalry' -- a classic Western theme - good as any from Hollywood's golden age. (Apologies to any Native Americans, but you know what I mean - Hollywood not being exactly P.C. back then...)
