While in a hallway, precariously balanced/climbing somehow, I watched another women somehow climb/squeeze through this slot near the ceiling (like a door slot/flap for letters, almost, but bigger, barely big enough for someone to just squeeeze through). I was just gathering myself to make the effort when I noticed this old woman below, stealing something.

Distracted by this, I abandoned my effort, got back down, then followed and confronted her.  I knew she'd taken something, and, full of self-righteous indignation (on someone else's behalf, arguably; wasn't my stuff she'd specifically taken), I essentially grabbed back what she was carrying, saying I needed to examine it.  She complained, but seemed to leave the building by the front door.

Now there were a few other people also about in the building; I took the items to a room off the main hallway, where I started looking through them to find the specific stolen item I'd seen her lift.  A artist there laconically peered at the pile (seemed to be mostly artist's pallets with dried paint on them) and confirmed that yes, he recognized that they belonged to fellow artists (faculty; this was a college campus).

My wroth increased upon realizing that she'd been all over campus lifting stuff right and left.  I exclaimed to all present that the (mostly harmless looking) old lady was a proper thief, and we needed to call security right away, but I reckoned that she'd already fled.  However, when I opened the front door of the building to glance out, saying something about "...that witch", I saw her there, waiting on one of those built-in benches on either side of the doorway (along with a couple of other random people).  She was so avid (and perhaps hopeful that she still had a chance to get back her ill-gotten gains) that she was lurking about.  I however also felt a pang of embarrassment for my uncomplimentary remark said in her presence.

I ducked back in, grabbed the phone, and excitedly (probably barely coherent) told the campus security dispatcher about the thief and that they needed to send someone right away (before she got away)!  She agreed (though sounding a bit bemused), and I hung up.

The 2nd set of dreams is less coherent, but the theme of following / trying to catch a thief was still there, though this time, I also found myself apologizing to someone for mistakenly accusing them of being a perp.  Seems it wasn't quite so clear this time who it was or where they'd gone.
