Fleeing from and hiding from tornadoes - once while riding in a bus, in a 2nd instance hiding in a (largeish, maybe municipal) building with other people. But in neither case did the tornado actually hit where I was.
Terrifying as they are, tornadoes of course symbolize Change, writ large. (That's certainly what they cause when they hit.) And they force you to quickly remember what's really important.
